Common Questions
How it works — common questions
Nexus Academy lessons are conducted on a shared online whiteboard platform with video, audio, and screen-sharing. Students can annotate, solve problems, and review materials in real time with their tutor. No software installation is required — the platform works in any modern web browser.
Standard Nexus Academy sessions are 60 minutes long. Some students, particularly younger GCSE pupils or those with shorter attention spans, may prefer 45-minute sessions — this can be arranged with your tutor. IELTS and TOEFL students often benefit from 75-minute sessions to cover all four skills.
After every session, parents receive a brief lesson note from the tutor covering what was covered, what the student found challenging, and what to practise before the next session. Monthly, parents receive a full progress report including grade trajectory, milestone progress, and the plan for the following month.
Yes. Sessions can be rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice at no charge. Nexus Academy does not require minimum commitments or lock-in contracts. You can pause or end your programme at any time. There is no cancellation fee.
