Who We Are
One company. One standard.
We founded Nexus Academy because we believed students deserved better than a marketplace guess — and parents deserved better than paying agency rates to be told their child is 'doing well'.
We work with students preparing for GCSE, IGCSE, and A Level examinations in the UK and at British-curriculum international schools worldwide. We also prepare students for IELTS and TOEFL — the English proficiency exams required for university admission across the UK, US, Canada, and Australia.
Every Nexus tutor holds a UK degree, QTS, or equivalent professional qualification. They are interviewed, subject-assessed, and matched to the right student — by subject, level, and exam board — before they work with a single pupil.

Our Selection Process
How we choose every tutor
Fewer than 1 in 5 tutor applicants complete our full selection process. Here is what it involves.
Step 1
Application Review
Every tutor applicant submits their qualifications, teaching experience, and exam board expertise. We review before any interview.
Step 2
Subject Knowledge Test
Tutors complete a written assessment in their subject area — at the level they intend to teach. Only those who demonstrate mastery proceed.
Step 3
Structured Interview
A one-to-one interview focused on teaching approach, how they handle common student difficulties, and communication with parents.
Step 4
Trial Lesson Observation
Before joining fully, tutors complete an observed lesson. We assess session structure, pacing, explanation clarity, and student engagement.
