Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions govern the tutoring services provided by Nexus Academy. Please read carefully before booking any sessions.
Introduction
These terms and conditions govern the tutoring services provided by Nexus Academy (“we”, “us”, “our”) to students, parents, and guardians (“you”, “your”). By enrolling a student with Nexus Academy, the parent or guardian agrees to be bound by these terms in full.
Please read these terms carefully before booking any sessions. If you have any questions, contact us at inquiries@nexusacademyuk.com before proceeding.
Nexus Academy operates as an online tutoring service based in London, United Kingdom. All services are provided in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
1. Lesson Charges
Once a lesson has commenced, the full lesson fee becomes payable. No adjustment will be made to billing where a student fails to join a session without prior notification.
Cancellations or absences without the required notice will be charged at the full session rate. Please refer to the Rescheduling Policy in Section 2 for the required notice period.
2. Rescheduling Policy
All rescheduling requests must be submitted at least 6 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time. Requests made after this window may not be accommodated and the session may be charged in full.
One reschedule per lesson
A rescheduled lesson may not be rescheduled a second time. If a student is unable to attend a rescheduled lesson, that session will be forfeited and charged at the full rate.
Parent or guardian authorisation required
All rescheduling requests must be made by a parent or guardian. Where a request is submitted by the student, written confirmation from a parent or guardian will be required before the request is processed.
Please submit all rescheduling requests via email to inquiries@nexusacademyuk.com or via WhatsApp to our UK contact number.
3. Cancellation and Termination of Services
Requests to cancel or terminate tutoring services or subscription arrangements must be submitted before the generation of the next monthly invoice. Nexus Academy operates on a monthly billing cycle, and cancellation requests received after an invoice has been issued will not entitle the client to a refund for that billing period.
Once payment has been processed, refunds will not be issued. However, where a student has unused sessions remaining within a prepaid subscription at the point of cancellation, those sessions will be retained as credit on the account. This credit may be applied to future tutoring services with Nexus Academy and will remain valid for 12 months from the date of cancellation.
To request termination of services, please contact us in writing at inquiries@nexusacademyuk.com.
4. Late Arrivals
Student late arrivals
If a student joins a session late without prior notification, the session will conclude at its originally scheduled end time. The student will receive only the remaining duration of the lesson. The full session fee will be charged.
Tutor late arrivals
If a tutor joins a session late, the student will receive the full duration of the originally scheduled lesson, extended by the equivalent time of the tutor's delay. No additional charge will apply.
If a tutor is unable to attend a scheduled session, Nexus Academy will notify the parent or guardian as early as possible and arrange a replacement session at no additional cost.
5. Code of Conduct
Nexus Academy is committed to maintaining a respectful and productive learning environment for all students and tutors.
Students are expected to:
- Treat their tutor with courtesy and respect at all times
- Attend sessions prepared and ready to engage
- Behave in a manner conducive to learning during all sessions
Nexus Academy reserves the right to terminate a subscription or end an individual session without refund if a student's conduct is disrespectful, abusive, or otherwise contrary to these expectations. This applies to conduct directed at tutors, Nexus Academy staff, or any other party connected with the service.
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that students understand and adhere to this code of conduct.
6. Communication
Nexus Academy encourages open, ongoing communication between parents, guardians, and our team. Parents and guardians are welcome to contact us at any time with questions or concerns regarding their child's progress, lesson content, tutor compatibility, or any other aspect of the service.
All students receive a written progress report from their tutor at the end of each calendar month. Parents and guardians who wish to discuss a report or request additional feedback are encouraged to reach out directly.
Contact us at inquiries@nexusacademyuk.com or via WhatsApp on our UK contact number.
7. Confidentiality
Nexus Academy treats all student information and lesson content with strict confidentiality. This includes personal details, academic records, assessment results, and any information disclosed during sessions or communications.
We do not share student information with third parties except where required by law or where explicit consent has been provided by the parent or guardian.
For full details of how we collect, store, and use personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
8. Liability
Nexus Academy provides online tutoring services on an educational basis. While we make every effort to support student progress, we cannot guarantee specific academic outcomes, grades, or examination results.
General limitation
Nexus Academy shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising directly or indirectly from the use of its services, except where such loss or damage is caused by our negligence or wilful misconduct.
Technical disruption
Nexus Academy is not responsible for technical issues arising from the student's internet connection, device, or software that result in disruption to a session. Where a session is significantly disrupted due to a technical issue on the tutor's side, Nexus Academy will arrange a replacement session at no additional cost.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the laws of England and Wales.
9. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Changes to These Terms
Nexus Academy reserves the right to update or amend these terms and conditions at any time. Where changes are made, we will notify existing clients by email with reasonable notice before the changes take effect. Continued use of our services following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
The most current version of these terms will always be available on this page.
11. Agreement to These Terms
By enrolling a student with Nexus Academy — whether through completing a booking form, making a payment, or confirming a session — the parent or guardian confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions in full.
It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure that the student is aware of and adheres to the policies set out in these terms, including the code of conduct, the rescheduling policy, and the attendance requirements.
